Quinn Sinclair lives an ordinary life with her less-than-loving mother in Conifer, Colorado, clueless of her true nature. On the night of her birthday, a staggering betrayal sends her life spinning out-of-control. As she struggles to pick up the pieces, a vision of a man with haunting tourmaline-blue eyes begs her for help, and she is transported into a Magykal battle-forever changing her life.

Arik Morgaine—Demigod bad boy and outcast of the Magykal Realm—tried to avoid contact with Princess Quinn for eighteen years, not wanting to make good on an old threat. But the fates have other plans. Arik can no longer deny his growing desire for Quinn, or the need to protect her from those wanting to control her burgeoning powers.

Can the two of them come together and save the Magykal Realm from being destroyed by the Darkest of Magyks?

Gentle fingertips grazed the edge of her jaw, trailing down her neck to her collarbone. His citrine gaze stared deeply into her eyes, and her body heated at his tender touch.

“You’re okay, yeah?” Thaene asked, his voice hoarse from their lovemaking.

Am I okay? She hardly knew. Though she had nothing to compare it to, this feeling was more than giving her virginity to him. Quinn felt like something bigger inside had stirred to life, wanting to escape.

“You know I love you. I’m sorry if it hurt.” He kissed her again, his lips caressing hers, as if he could take the ache away. “Say something, Quinn. Please.”

“I love you, Thaene.” She pressed herself into him, passionately returning his affection. As their kiss continued, Quinn wondered if he wanted more. She also wondered if she had more to give.

“I want us together, always. Do you want that, Quinn?” Thaene’s eyes danced with a mixture of emotions—love, passion, possessiveness, and something else she couldn’t name.

“We can have forever. You want that, don’t you?” Thaene asked.

“Yes,” Quinn answered breathlessly, before realizing what she’d agreed to. She smiled, finding his need for her exciting. “Forever is a long time. But I could do it with you.”

Thaene smiled back. Happiness lit his face. He looked like he’d just won a major prize—he looked triumphant.

“Being with you on your twenty-second birthday was very special to me. You’ve given me such a precious gift.”

“I love you. I can’t imagine my first time with anyone else.”

Besides, my gift of Sight showed you to me, over and over. How could I not give myself to you?

Her gift had shown her something else as well. Since she didn’t understand it, Quinn ignored it. She’d followed her heart where Thaene was concerned. Not even her mother’s dislike—or in spite of it— changed her mind. Following your heart always led you down the right path.

Thaene lightly brushed her hair from her face, then he rested his forehead on hers.

“There’s something else I’d like you to give me. Will you do that? Give me what I desire the most?”

The longing in his voice made Quinn squirm underneath him. Right now, she’d give him anything.

“It’s the most precious gift of all. One I’ll cherish forever.”

Oh my God. He wants to marry me.

“Yes,” Quinn said, drawing in a breath. “I’ll give you anything.”

“Good.” Thaene nuzzled her neck. “I want you to show me your Magyk.”

“What?” Quinn blinked at him, wondering if she’d heard him right.

“If you want us to have forever, you must show me your Magyk.”

Death is her destiny. But she has other things in mind.

Lia Starr’s life isn’t a fairytale. It’s a reality overflowing with scary monsters, death, and betrayal—a past she left behind when she entered her new foster home. Now, with a loving family, a sister she’s always craved, and relief from the gruesome corpses that tormented her as a child, she’s finally content. Until a freak accident changes everything.

Because Aiden can cross the veil between the spirit world and the earthly dimension, physically fighting off the monsters and sending them back. With Aiden’s determination to keep her safe and his absorbing blue eyes, Lia can’t help falling in love with him. But who is he, and what does he really want? As Lia and Aiden’s relationship deepens, so does the mystery surrounding him.

Once Lia finds out Aiden has traded his soul to save her, she enters the darker dimension, a dimension where nightmares are reality, ready to kick some serious butt. But surrounded by twenty-eight mutilated monsters and a deranged cult leader intent on bringing his dark world to the surface, isn’t what Lia expects. And even worse, she must face her traumatic past in order to destroy them. If she fails, not only will she lose the guy she loves and face certain death, but she will also risk the one thing she can’t afford to lose: her eternal soul.

Writing What You Want to Read by Aileen Harkwood

Writing What You Want to Read

by Aileen Harkwood

I’ve often wondered if any other writers out there write because they can’t find something to read. Please don’t get me wrong. I am NOT saying only I can write the stories and books that will please me. As my Idaho farm boy grandfather would have said as he snorted loudly. Pshaaww. The world is and always will be filled with authors with far more talent than I possess.

Though my reading tastes are pretty far ranging, I have days, however, where I’ll walk into a bookstore and nothing really shouts at me to pick it up. Or I’ll get on Amazon, with more books than any human will ever have time to read, flip through screen after screen of bestsellers or hidden gems, and though I want to hit that 1-Click buy button, something in me hesitates too long. Typically I end up with no book at all.

What I want in these vague, indecisive moments, what I’m craving, is a very specific type of book. It has to have all my favorite elements: heroes or heroines with some type of psychic ability, or a plot that’s strong on action and suspense in a setting that evokes a mysterious mood or dramatic atmosphere. It helps if there’s just enough of the fantastical to elevate the story out of the ordinary while still leaving it firmly grounded in the real world. Sex? Oh, I’ll take some. What straight woman doesn’t melt into a boneless heap watching Daniel Craig rise out of the ocean in Casino Royale wearing those amazing blue swim trunks?

My problem with looking for this very specific type of book is that I’ve usually read them all. I wish I could unread them and read them again, but what I really want is another. A new book.

That’s when I know it’s time to get back to work and write the book I want to read. Will it be perfect? (Pardon me, I just snorted, remarkably like my grandfather.) No, it won’t be perfect. Still, I can aspire to brilliant, can’t I? Every writer dreams of being so.

One thing writing such a book will do is satisfy my fantasies, and that’s satisfaction enough.

Featured Author J.J. DiBenedetto

Welcome J.J. (James)! Author of the “Dream” Series. Today I am featuring the 2nd book in J.J.’s series, Dream Doctor. There are 4 novels in this series.

Dream Doctor Cover

Here is the blurb for Dream Doctor, Book 2

“I didn’t expect to be woken up by someone I don’t know dreaming about killing somebody. I thought I was done with that once and for all…”

But Sara’s not done with it. As if adjusting to life as a newlywed and starting medical school weren’t difficult enough, she’s started seeing the dreams of everyone around her, again. Before everything is said and done, those dreams might destroy Sara’s hopes of becoming a doctor, wreck her marriage and even end her life…

“Dream Doctor” is the thrilling second novel in the Dreams series.

Excerpt from Dream Doctor

I open my eyes and I don’t understand – what happened to the meeting? How did I get from the conference room to – oh.

It was another dream. I don’t even know who it was I was seeing this time. I can see his face very clearly, but I don’t know him. He must be on the medical school faculty, it shouldn’t be too hard to find out who he is. All I know for now is that he’d like to be the next Dean, and he doesn’t like Dr. Morris.

Counting his wife, that’s at least two people who don’t like him enough that they’re dreaming about seeing him dead. I can’t get dragged into this again – I almost lost my mind and nearly got myself, my best friend and my husband killed the last time. But I am going to get dragged in. There’s no point in kidding myself, is there?

And then – Janet. I wish I hadn’t seen that. It’s not just that it was heartbreaking. I remember the whole dream, and I can’t help but wonder what I’d do in her place. Or her mother’s. Would I be as brave as she is? Could I push Brian away, if it ever came to that? If I had no hope and he was going to throw away everything he’d ever worked for just so he could watch me die?

I don’t know. I don’t want to know. I can’t think about it, so I do the only thing I can think of to put it out of my mind. I kiss him until he wakes up and I go right on kissing him.

Cover Reveal – Blood & Bone by Candace Osmond

Blood & Bone, Book Two in The Iron World Series

Cover art by Corey Majeau from Coris Designs – @coreymajeau and Coris Designs on Facebook

The Blurb
The stakes are high in the second installment of The Iron World Series as Avery Quinn decides which path her life will take. Become a vampire and be with Jack forever, or pledge herself to the Fey and help save Faerie from the horrible Queen Mabry? The more she thinks about it the more she wants to remain human. But as she sinks further into the magical world she has come to love, Avery realizes that remaining human is next to impossible, especially when a dark king sets his sights on her. To make matters worse, a secret society of shape shifters have sworn themselves as Avery’s enemy all because of a certain classmate with a caustic temperament. With a mythical war brewing and Evaine close on her heels, Avery must decide who to give her humanity to before it’s too late.

Change has an irrevocable impact on the mind, body and soul. To the fearful it’s threatening—it means there’s a possibility that things could get worse. To the hopeful, however, it’s encouraging because it means things could get better.

Was I fearful or was I hopeful?

I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling in my sunlit bedroom and pondered about that. To most people this wouldn’t be so stressful. To most people change meant a new hair color or a new job.

But I realized a while ago—I am not most people.
